Welcome to my Rainbow world!

To me Rainbows are a true expression of life. Our lives are full of a gamut of emotions and they together make the rainbow called life. When you strike the perfect harmony life is as beautiful as a rainbow. It is hope, optimism, the kind of perfection and balance we all strive for....

This blog is a strange amulgumation of real life and reel life. My dreams, my fantasies my reality.....Happy reading...

Mysore......

Mysore is beautiful…It was some 2 and a half hour drive from Bangalore…. We didn’t stop for breakfast and I was famished by the time we hit Mysore…. But chasing a cavalcade all the way was fun enuf.. We had bfast at hotel Siddhartha which I think has the best south Indian food der. There Mallige Idlis( typical of mysore and mangalore so I was told) are to die for.. Between Mallige means jasmine. J Not to forget the mysore masala dosa.. The KSIEC emporium is right next to the joint. I stepped in to pick up Mysore sandal wood for ghar.. They tried to sell me more stuff but I came out a like a good gal.. They do have a very pretty collection of Mysore silk saris. Sighhhh…. J

We left our car at the parking there and walked to the palace. The Mysore palace sadly has nothing much to offer. It was quite unimpressive.

I was surprised to find tat Mysore now has so many resorts. We went to planet X which is essentially an entertainment park….Some of you know the place. We had our Mktg offsite there last year. Do not grin. :-p :-p..We went go carting.. I had the worst lap score. In my defense it was my maiden venture on the tracks…. my aim was to complete all laps without banging my car and getting over my fear of the track. :-p

Lunch was at this very beautiful resort called windflower. Small property right next to planet x but the ambience is amazing. Ideal for a cozy week end J They have a spa too…. Btw you guys if you want to stay overnight you can checkout Ginger too. It is a Taj property. I have stayed in Ginger in Pondy and loved there basic no frill services..

Navratre mein chamundi hills pe maa ke bhi darshan ho gaye. Ab is se achi baat kya ho sakti hai. Raat mein hum palace dekhne gaye the. It was awesome. Mysore was all lit up in prep for the dusshera festival. Though I would say Jaipur beats Mysore hands down in terms on decorations on Diwali, but then that could be my bias J

We stopped at Kamat Yatri nivas on our way back for dinner. And had their north karnataka meal typically served on a banana leaf. But be warned that place is usually over crowded and you may have to wait a while like we did but it was worth it…Except some idiot banged our car in the parking.. GRRRRRRRRR…. But nuth that a few Jagjit singh and pankaj udhas gazals couldn’t fix on our way bck.. J

Overall I loved every moment of it… A day well spent…
